Good Smile Company was one of the first figure manufacturer to capitalize on the popularity of Hatsune Miku, the mascot for Yamaha’s “Vocaloid” music synthesizer program. Many companies followed suit soon after, but Good Smile Company’s Hatsune Miku remains as one of the most popular figure to be released for the Vocaloid diva — seeing two re-releases in 2009. Their original release captured Miku’s charm without the robotic voice. It couldn’t get any better. Could it?

It did when GSC teased us with this Hatsune Miku commercial. Soon after, they announced that she’ll be available for sale as a WonFes/Good Smile online shop exclusive. Her price, surprisingly, is ¥1,000 lower than the regular release. Lovely! Continue reading ‘GSC Hatsune Miku CM Ver.’

I just received this CD last week and I’m loving it. Highly recommended for Idolm@ster fans, especially if your favourite girl is Miki. Unlike other CDs from the Idolm@ster series, the songs in this CD are more contemporary, which is a real plus for those (like myself) who don’t like their overly irritating 5 year old voices.

New Figures and more for December

I’m surprised that quite a few figures came in December. Despite the size of the loot, I actually didn’t “spend” that much in December. Well, that’s because everything you see here except for the provocative Miku Morizaki were paid for in previous months. I didn’t buy anything during boxing day because I had to work…damn you!! *waves fist*

Alter’s colossal Fate T. Harlaown -True Sonic Form-, Good Smile Company TVCM Miku Hatsune, 2x figma Miku Hatsune Live Stage Ver., Giga Pulse Miku Morizaki, and 2 IDOLM@STER CDs came in December. In fact, the two CDs came in yesterday.

December Pre-orders update ~ Ordered and Wished

You know it’s the end of the month when you see my “pre-order” post, so here is my updated list of the figures I ordered and wished for 2010. The list remains pretty much untouched from last month’s survivors with the only new announcement that interests me being Alpha x Omega’s Ranka Lee.

Ranka will be released in May 2010 for ¥6,800, and this time I’ll only be ordering one because I won’t display her in cast-off for sure. Her Cinderella dress looks great, but her bikini option is a really dumb gimmick to increase sales. I say dumb because she’ll be wearing her thigh-highs and platform heels with her bikini.
