Alter brings us, yet, another gem with their newly released Yoko Littner. She is officially known as Yoko Littner the Mysterious Bounter Hunter (謎の賞金稼ぎ ヨーコ・リットナー), or so I think, but I’ll just call her Yoko like any normal person would.
Yoko is one of the main character from the popular anime series Gurren Lagann, which I haven’t had the chance to watch yet. Not knowing much about the character, I’ll skip ahead to the figure itself. ^^;
Alter’s Yoko was released in late July and retails for ¥7,800.
She is listed as a 1/8 scale figure, but her size and amazing details makes her look like a 1/7 scale instead.
Kuramoto Ikuma is the mastermind behind this beautiful figure. I will start keeping track of the sculptors now. ^^
Overall, as expected of Alter, the figure’s sculpt, paint job, and attention to detail are stunning. Alter just landed in the #1 spot for making the best figures in my mind.
I think Alter just brought Yoko figures to a whole new level.
I believe this is the first time I’ve seen Alter figures with a dioramic looking base…they should do this more often. ‘Tis one of the reason why I prefer GoodSmile figures.
My favourite part about this figure is Yoko’s face. Look at the confidence in those eyes; sheer determination.
My love for her increases everytime I look at her. Beautiful.
It’s not Yoko without some fan-service. Unzipped hot pants and bikini top anyone?
Amazing details; stitch marks and zipper.
I’ve read that the rifle on Koto’s Yoko is one of the best out there.
I’m a huge fan of girls with huge weapons. Absolutely love her rifle.
I’ve lost count of how many figures I have with pink finger nails. Seems to be a popular colour.
Her pistol can be removed from the holster.
Didn’t realize there was a crack until I was sorting through the photos. “orz
Who wants to be stepped on by these?
Alter’s Yoko with Gift’s 1/5 scale Yoko. I prefer the chopstick on Gift’s version.

It’s a great figure. I can understand why the hair-pin isn’t there for this version, but that’s Yoko’s trade-mark, in the end.
And dude, you need to watch Gurren Lagann. It’s THE shonen series, as I’ve covered before :)
LOL, I didn’t realize she’s missing the hairpin. ^^;; I’m taking about the chopstick in her hand.
I really need to watch Gurren Lagann. I’ll also add you to my blogroll if you don’t mind. ^^
I know you’re talking about the chopstick. I’m saying, in addition, that she’s missing her third most iconic feature ;)
The first being the underboobs, the second being the rifle.
And go ahead, and thanks :)
There are a lot of series I’ve not yet watched, so the fact I’ve watched Gurren Lagann is almost a lucky shot, heh. But it’s a must watch. Episode 4 is drawn in a meh-ish manner, live through it, cause it picks up again.
Ah, I see. I think my level of interest in Gurren Lagann just increased by 500% after receiving this figure, so I’ll definitely watch this soon. ^^
For the purpose of this figure the lack of skull hairpin works since it’s her “adult” version. She only had the hairpin in her younger iteration and had shed it when she grew up. :)
So warm picture ! I love the last ! Congratulation for this beautiful review !
Yeah, what did you use for the background?
I used a piece of red cloth for the bg.
Thank you. The last 4 photos are some of my faves. ^^
Pink fingernails – don’t we all have them naturally? ^^
That’s one fierce Yoko by Alter indeed. I find it cool how the revolver can be removed though.
Hmm…when you put it that way, I have to agree. But seeing as many figures don’t bother with their nails being painted, I just naturally assumed it’s nail polish. :P
Ara ara~
i kinda dropped her off my list…now im regretting it :(
ill see if i can still get her…
gotta say i didnt think it would be THAT detailed!
poison!
Yes, it’s poison! The more you see it, the more you want it. ^^
Hope you can still get your hands on her.
Wow, she is so detailed and amazing! I never noticed she had THIS much detail, that’s awesome ^^ This Yoko looks like one of the best Yoko figures out there. Lovely photos, too. They do her a lot of justice ^^
Thanks Kanon. ^^
I knew she was going to be awesome from the promo photos. She is simply stunning in the flesh. I don’t think many of us expected her to be this detailed.
Another awesome Yoko figure! I opted not to get this one, but do have the Real Image Version on order for later this year…
Oh yes, the gun from Koto Yoko is one of the most impressive I’ve seen. The action actually moves, the magazine can be pulled out, a rifle stand can be pulled down, and the whole thing comes apart.
It also includes parts so that it can be made into an SMG with a larger banana clip. On the subject of the clip, each provided clip includes the internal details. You can see topmost round in the clip. If you pull the bolt back, you can see inside the chamber and the bullet waiting to be loaded. Even the rear battery pack has the energy cell details.
It’s a shame that most of the detail is hidden when the gun is fully assembled. :(
That’s the hallmark of the geek, to gush over details that are small and almost never come to light.
For sure, such details would amaze even “Mundanes” when exposed to them – I paint miniatures, and most people can appreciate the attention to detail, but they don’t care that much :)
And it’s not a slam, my blog has the word “Geek” twice in its name, heh.
The details are there to impress those who value such an effort and wow those who didn’t know such an effort was made. It would be interesting to see how the Real Image Yoko turns out to be.
They should just relese a scaled Anti-material Rifle replica. It would be a blast.
*dropped off from figure.fm*
Lovely, lovely photos! Bounty Hunter Yoko is definitely one of the most epic Yoko figures I’ve seen. Too bad I didn’t have money at the time to consider pre-ordering her.
I like your blog! Is it alright to add you to my blogroll? ^^
Thanks for dropping by. ^^
I would love to return the favour, but I’ll need a link to your blog. ^^
http://tangerinetango.wordpress.com/
Glad to help ;)
Sorry for the late reply! Wasn’t able to go online much during the weekend.
That, and Guy already gave the link to my blog. ^_^
I already added you to my blogroll, hope to see more posts from you!
@Guy: Thank you so much for helping out~! ^^
Welcome. I suggest adding your blog’s URL to your comments though, like everyone else does ;)
No problem at all. Just added yours to my blogroll as well. ^^
That’s a heck of a figure! Maybe I’m weird but I really like figures with their fingernails painted instead of leaving out blank.
LOL…It’s not weird, we call that “tickling your fancy”…aka “fetish”. ^^;
Nice photos ^^. What camera + lens do you use btw ?
Thanks. I use a Sony T-100. ^^;;;
awesome pictures of an awesome figure.
I bought one, it’s prolly on it’s way to me now. I hope it arrives safely!
Thanks. I hope so too. ^^
I am catching up on the blogroll again, nice Yoko. Still don’t know a thing about her, it’s down in the to do list.
Don’t worry, I don’t know squat about her neither. I don’t quite care about that anymore. ^^;;
Awesome shoot. I just finished up with mine after getting her about a week ago. Didn’t take as many pics as you did. Sucks that there was that one defect on her coat for you. Maybe some krazy glue with fix that up?
Thanks. The crack doesn’t bother me at all, especially since I broke Fate’s arm 5 seconds after taking her out of the box on the same day. I was too pre-occupied to worry about her coat. ^^;;;
It’s at the back anyways, not like I’m gonna turn her around and look at her ass. ^^;;
I go by the rule of “If it’s not broken, don’t fix it!” nowadays.
Shes such an awesome figure and I totally agree that shes more of a 1/7 figure.The Detail on the figure is great but like you pointed out her face is what deals the seal. Such a lean,mean expression is pure gold
Haha so Im not the only one discovering the figures flaws in the pictures for the first time ^^
“Seals the deal” :)
You can see the determination in her eyes…that’s what makes this figure awesome.
I find that all the time because some of the flaws/imperfections are too small to be seen with your eyes.
Pink finger nails = Pretty hands. xD
I don’t have the Alter one so I’m not gonna debate which one has a better gun but indeed the Koto gun is more customizable.
Great pictures.
We are in same boat, I haven’t even watched the series yet but the Yoko craze was enough to get myself one. lol
I’m quite tempted to get the Koto one, but three figures of a character I don’t know seems quite excessive. ^^;;
Solution: Watch Gurren Lagann already, and know the character :)
LOL, I’ll do so when school starts. ^^
What the hell!? She should get a five! And I think her gun is better, as it has a nice hevy metalic feeling (the only one like that asside banpresto). Kotobukiya, while more detailed is a bit superfluous and looks just like plastic. In the end, It’s all about the figure, ne? Of course, the best and naturall way to present Yoko is with her riffle, however, dear companies, make it look like this one. The whole figure is just epic and flawless, Congrats!
Agreed, I really liked the metalic finish to it as well; but that’s purely personal preference. ;)
As for the score at foo-bar-baz, he doesn’t give that many 5/5 in his reviews.
